you can cannibalize those metal strips in those anti theft thingy as brass strips to clean your nibs.

    Perfect!
    I had been using tin foil from a blister pack of chewing gum (not the foil that wraps around the gum, the foil you pop to pop out the gum, think "Orbitz" or similar).
    I think your anti-theft strip could be a lot easier to work with, I will try it ASAP.
