Ok, long story short. This is just a short introduction to the platinum family, or specifically, to the preppy family. Basically what I am showing here is the facts they are the same and their parts are interchangeable to suit your wants.
1) platinum desk pen: comes in EF gold-plated nib. takes a platinum cartridge or converter. plastic body, feed isn't transparent but professionally looking.
2) platinum preppy highlighter: comes in highlighter feed. takes a platinum
cartridge or converter. plastic body, feed is transparent and comes in nice color (not grey).
3) platinum preppy :: comes in 0.2,0.3 and 0.5 colored nib. That paint will not last, and what is below is the steel nib. takes a platinum
cartridge or converter. plastic body, feed is transparent and comes in grey only.
4) platinum plasir: comes in 0.3 and 0.5 colored nib. takes a platinum
cartridge or converter. aluminium scratch-resistant body, feed is transparent and comes in grey only.
Breaking them down into their parts will make things very simple. The nib and the feed units are the same.
So, where do you go from here? how about a pen that has an aluminum body, colored feed and an EF gold plated pen? or a highlighter that is in desk pen mode? the possibilities are endless, limited by your own imagination.
Now, go be the artist. :)
I just bought the desk pen last week! Love the way it writes. The Platinum pens are exceptionally good for their price!
ReplyDeleteVery glad you like them! enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Currently have a Plaisir and a Preppy ordered to have a daily carry with a 0.2 mm nib! Was directed here after asking in my Pen group how swappable the nibs are!
